BLK Friday 2024: A Recap of Connection, Celebration, and Community

Our annual BLK Friday TradeShow & Networking Event was a remarkable success this year bringing together an inspiring mix of entrepreneurs, professionals, and supporters of Black-owned businesses. Hosted in the heart of Scarborough (Centennial College Event Centre), BLK Friday 2024 offered a space for community members to connect, learn, and celebrate the achievements of Black-owned businesses and professionals across the GTA.

The first day kicked off with our exclusive VIP reception on September 5, featuring a keynote address from Tiffany Callender, followed by the Tradeshow and Networking event on September 6 which was filled with insightful conversations and new connections. Attendees then explored a vibrant marketplace, where over 40 local vendors showcased everything from handcrafted products to innovative services. Our “Rock Your Profile” workshop, led by LinkedIn, provided valuable insights for attendees looking to elevate their professional presence.

A highlight of the day was our engaging panel discussion on the power of strategic partnerships and navigating the future as the Black Entrepreneurship Program reaches its final stages. Panelists, Melisa Ellis, Fatiha Senhaji, Issac Olowolafe & Ryan Knight, shared valuable insights on leveraging partnerships to drive growth and discussed the resources and opportunities available to help Black-owned businesses continue thriving in a changing landscape.
